the bog filters the river

So, the very lovely and knife-sharp Lina offered me assistance, suggesting some reading about feminisms  that I asked for in the lead up to the Feminist Carnival of Sexual Freedom and Autonomy that she is hosting.   I'm betting it will be all kinds of greatness.

Her advice was good, leading to a reader edited by Linda Nicholson and my discovery of the section in the library containing histories of the public and private lives of things like theatre masks and lingerie (because someone, possibly an actual student, one who couldn't be bothered with the French edition, got between me and Alain Corbin's book The Foul and the Fragrant).

Now my brain feels like the bog, mostly in a happy way, but also in the way that living in the sticks slows me down.  As Lina probably guessed, chances are slim to none I'm getting to this carnival as anything but a reader, not even if she kicks my ass double hard and mocks my marginal literacy with the utmost tolerance and care.
